Dear Families,

I trust that you all had an enjoyable summer and that this message finds you well. We are really looking forward to welcoming you all back tomorrow, for the start of another exciting year of school! We also can’t wait to welcome our new starters in Pine Class, who will be looking forward to their first day in ‘big school’. As usual, there are a number of updates we’d like to share with you, to ensure the start back in school goes well for everyone.

• As shared during the summer term, the new school day will commence 10 minutes earlier. This means the school gates will open at 8:40am and all children will be expected to be in class for the register at 8:50am.
• For those in Year 1,2, 3 and 4, please place any food orders for the coming weeks through the Aspens Select website, https://select.aspens-services.com/
• Children in Year 3 and 4 will be having their PE lessons with the sports coaches on Thursday afternoon this year. Therefore, could all children in Year 3 and 4 wear sports clothing in this Thursday. All other children will have PE lessons beginning next week.
• Children in KS2 (Year 3 and 4), no longer have fruit provided by the government and therefore need to send it a snack in their child’s book bag/ruck sack. Preferably, in a labelled bag or box.
• Newsletters from class teachers will be shared next Monday, with information relating to the curriculum, PE days and other relevant information shared.
• On Friday 6th September, we will be celebrating ‘National Read A Book Day’. We invite all children to bring in their favourite book to share with their classmates and as part of a special collective worship.

Key dates for the year ahead will be shared in the first school newsletter, along with any further important updates.
